Dr.Jart+ Ceramidin Liquid: Review

2:38:00 PM

I've played with a few Dr.Jart+ things here and there. My latest acquisition by the brand is the Ceramidin Liquid. Details per Sephora:

A powerful serum infused with ceramides to support the skin's natural protective barrier while delivering a moisture boost for visibly plumper, healthy-looking skin.

Supercharged with the power of ceramides, this serum quenches dehydrated skin and supports the skin's natural moisture barrier with time-release hydration for up to 26 hours. It helps prevent chronic water loss and seals in moisture to relieve dryness and irritated skin caused by environmental stress. It improves the appearance of fine lines, flakiness, and tightness, leaving skin looking and feeling healthier and smoother.

Active Ingredients

-Ceramide NP: Provides time-release moisture.
-Licorice Root Extract: Soothes and provides anti-redness properties.
-Portulaca Oleracea and Aloe Vera: Calm irritated skin and hydrate.
-Panthenol: Alleviates signs of sensitivity and softens skin.

Ceramides are lipids that help retain water which makes them hydrating and restorative in skincare. They naturally occur in the skin's outer layers. Ceramides help replenish those natural fatty acids when they're lost to the environment or through natural aging. There are nine different types of ceramides.

This liquid is an intensely hydrating liquid. I've tried Dr.Jart+ ceramide creams too and they're nice. I just have so many creams and lotions, I like to layer liquids like this with other products to get the effect I want. I use this one when I'm dry and dehydrated. This is going to get the most use from me in the winter.

The texture is slippery and it's thin enough to layer. It takes a few minutes to absorb fully. Ceramidin Liquid has a slightly milky appearance and has a slightly yellow hue. This has a faint scent, I wish is was fragrance free for the sensitive skin types. It doesn't bug me at all. So its not as a bad as say a strong French fragranced product. It's there though.

The bottle is plastic and has a flip top so you can squeeze out whatever amount you want. It's reasonably priced at $39 for a 5 oz bottle. It will last forever. This is going to be perfect for dry and aging skin, or anyone who wants a really hydrating replenishing liquid that they can layer with other products. Some might be able to use this as a moisturizer on it's own. This didn't give me any breakouts nor did I experience any adverse side effects while using.
