MILK MAKEUP Holographic Stick Mars: Review & Swatches

I was intrigued by the original MILK MAKEUP Holographic Stick in Supernova. However, it was too cool for my skin tone. I was super excited to see them release a warmer shade Mars recently. Details per Sephora:

What it is:
A bestselling holographic highlighter stick that’s packed with meteorite powder for an otherworldly glow.

What it does:
Loaded with meteorite powder and twilight-like pearls, this multi-use highlighter stick leaves an iridescent sheen wherever it's applied. With nourishing ingredients like mango butter, coconut oil, and avocado oil, Holographic Stick hydrates skin for a dewy, galactic glow. Its iridescent sheen complements all skintones, and can be applied to the eyes, cheeks, lips, and body. Formulated with Milk Melt Technology, this vegan Holographic Stick melts into skin on contact and blends in seamlessly.

The Holographic Stick comes in a clear plastic package and has a chunky style feel. It's a good sized stick for $28. Mars is described as Golden Peach. Mars has a shimmering warm peach base with a pink holographic shift. I opened it and was loving the way it looks in the tube. It's like the creamy version of Urban Decay's Fireball.

The formula is creamy without being greasy. It's not too dry nor too emollient. It's a good in-between texture. The lasting power is about that of any creamy highlighter-maybe 6 hours at most. The color payoff on this shade is sheer. I found Supernova more pigmented. Mars is so pretty in the tube but it goes on too sheer. It's buildable to a degree, however you can only pack so much on your face. I was disappointed that it doesn't show up well. Mars is dewy and iridescent, it's just very subtle. The swatch below is me swiping it on numerous times. On my face I could only get so far with it before adding more just did nothing. I loved the color, it was just too sheer.
