January Labs Restorative Tonic Mist: Review

2:22:00 PM

January Labs is a newer brand to me. I grabbed a few items from them late last year. I've been working my way through a few of their products. I like that they're a natural brand that won't cost you an arm and a leg. It's affordable and with good ingredients. Always a good beginning with a brand for me. I just finished my bottle of their Restorative Tonic Mist so it's up first for review. Details per January Labs:

Our essential mist creates a powerful Stratum Barrier to protect and repair your skin, maintain hydration and prevent moisture loss. Use often throughout the day to reset proper Ph, minimize pore size and prevent breakouts.
Our best selling Restorative Tonic Mist is the best defense against environmental elements, bacteria and allergens.  It is designed to boost, rehydrate, balance and protect all skin types.
Active Ingredients & Benefits
  • Aloe Extract: Calms and soothes inflammation.
  • Witch Hazel: Aggressively fights acne-causing bacteria.
  • Sodium PCA: A natural humectant responsible for binding moisture to the skin cells.
  • Olive Oil: Helps maintain the elasticity and softness of skin.
  • Rosa Centifolia Flower: Used to soften, balance, and restore the skin.
  • Licorice: A de-pigmenting agent that inhibits melanin synthesis; functions as an effective antioxidant that treats blemishes and calms irritated skin.
  • Calendula Extract: An anti-inflammatory and healing antioxidant.

January Labs is a small company with basic packaging. The Restorative Tonic Mist comes in a clear plastic bottle that looks like a very basic bottle. January Labs believes in 'Less is More' which I like. I'm perfectly happy not paying for a luxe bottle and having an affordable skincare line with good ingredients. At $24 for 4 oz you can afford to buy this face mist.

Honestly, I like the idea of a face mist toner because it's easy and feels nice and refreshing to randomly spray it on. In essence face mist sprays are just fancy water so I love it when they're priced accordingly. I hate alcohol in toners and I love witch hazel for it's astringent properties. Add in some aloe, rose flower water, olive oil, calendula and you have a nice refreshing mist with a little bit of everything. It smells light with a hint of lime and rose. I liked it overall and I would buy it again.
