Becca launched a new limited edition shade of their ever popular Shimmering Skin Perfector called Prismatic Amethyst. Details per Sephora:

What it is:
A creamy, highlighting powder with duo-chrome pigments to impart a captivating light effect that transforms as you move.

What it does:
Achieve a sophisticated, prismatic glow in any light with this limited-edition Shimmering Skin Perfector® Pressed Highlighter. It’s enriched with color-shifting pigments that reflect and refract light for a multi-faceted, holographic chameleon effect. Prismatic Amethyst is infused with pale gold, violet, and rose pearls to create a unique, iridescent sheen that shifts as you move.

Unlike traditional pressed powders, this one-of-a-kind formula blends pigments with liquids, to create an unparalleled, creamy feel that applies like seamless silk and never cakes. It’s perfect for highlighting or layering to create a truly unique glow. The result is a high-shine, elegant shimmer finish that doesn’t look glittery.

Prismatic Amethyst is described as a lavender duo-chrome. It's a pale cream base with a shimmery pink to violet shift. The case is different from the normal shades, it's got a lavender metallic base instead of brown, with the usual steel Becca logo top. The shade is shimmery not glittery, it's the most subtle of any of the Becca shades. It takes a heavy hand to get this to show up strongly. It's easy to use a light layer for a light glow, or keep layering for more intensity. It's more of a glow effect than a traditional highlight. I like that it's not too purple, cool or blue. I have trouble wearing the violet highlighters that get too cool or blue toned. The pink is pretty prominent which makes it work great for warmer skin tones.

The texture of the powder feels thicker, softer and more buttery than the permanent shades. Consequently, that makes it a bit powdery too. Compared to the permanent shades this one also has a shorter wear time, maybe a few hours before it wears off. The packaging is amazing I'm sure it will be popular as well as the cool design of the powder. Prismatic Amethyst is more subtle than the two NYX Duo Chromatic shades I compared it to below. Snow Rose has a paler more pigmented base and only a pink shift. Lavender Steel is more violet and has a stronger glow. Prismatic Amethyst is sheerer and more pink than a lot of violet highlighters, that will make it more wearable to a larger variety of skin tones.
