Tom Ford Cream Color for Eyes Platinum: Review & Swatches

7:49:00 PM

This review is long overdue. I have to admit I was stupid and refused to try the Tom Ford Cream Color for Eyes when they launched the first two times. I normally hate cream shadows, because they always crease no matter what they say, and was not convinced this one could be any different. I was wrong. Very wrong.

Per Nordstrom: This luxurious cream eyeshadow by Tom Ford illuminates the eyes in an ultra-pigmented, metallic, lustrous glow. Its versatile and creamy formula seamlessly glides onto the lid to brighten eyes without creasing or smudging.

It's a cute little glass jar with a hefty $45 retail price tag, but a lot goes a long way. I've had this for about a year and used only about half the jar. It has yet to change in consistency to texture over the year as well. Still looks and feels the same as day one, no drying out so far. The texture is a mousse like cream. It's easy to blend on to the eyes. I can use my finger, however I prefer using the Chikuhodo Takumi Series T-7 which is fabulous for cream and liquid eyeshadows.

This cream shadow sets and stays put all day. No creasing. So I live in humid Texas and yes on a very hot, very humid day it may do the tiniest bit of creasing after 8 hours. For the most part, it's good. It's a very buildable formula, you can go light or heavy. Platinum is a shimmery cooler medium brown. It's also very well pigmented for a cream eyeshadow. This is my favorite for days when I need to look somewhat put together but only have minutes to do so. This is hands down the best cream eyeshadow I have ever tried and it's worth checking out. Don't let the price tag put you off, it's worth it. More shades please.
