Beautylish Lucky Bag 2016

So this is a little late. These got shipped out January 4th this year. I had just gotten back from Montana when I got it then went to work on other posts. Beautylish Lucky Bags are a once a year surprise bag(though it's really a box) of at least $150 worth of products for $75 or $80 with shipping. It's like a once a year subscription box without the subscription. Last years was a little disappointing and I was on the fence with whether or not to try this again. But, I caved and ordered it.

Inside was:

Kevyn Aucoin The Eye Pigment Primatif in Mistress $48
Charlotte Tilbury x Norman Parkinson Colour of Youth $58
Bioderma Sensibo $6.95
Bliss High Intensity Hand Cream $18
IT Hello Lashes Mascara $24
Becca Backlight Priming Filter $38

Overall, it was a great bag as far as value($192.95) and it was most definitely better than last year. It didn't feel like a bag full of leftover products that weren't selling well which was the feeling from last year. Though the Bliss brand is now no longer sold on Beautylish. For me it was an unlucky bag as I already owned or had tried 50% of the products in the bag. I have the Bioderma Sensibo see review here. I have the Charlotte Tilbury Norman Parkinson Colour of Youth see review here. And I also had the Becca Primer see review here.

The other three items were the hand cream, a mascara with silicone brush and a cream eyeshadow. I have a dozen hand creams waiting for me to use them right now, so while I didn't own it, it wasn't an 'open the surprise box and squeal over item'. The IT mascara has a silicone brush and I hate silicone mascara brush wands. I've just never come to like them like I do the old fashioned plastic ones. I keep hoping silicone wands are a fad and will die and go away one day, but seems unlikely. The Kevyn Aucoin Cream Eyeshadow was a nice expensive eyeshadow. I personally am not a cream eyeshadow fan. So again while a great item, not an item I was really excited about. So for me it was a lackluster bag overall and I wish I hadn't bought it. It was a great bag for anyone who maybe wasn't as picky & didn't own half the items already. I was so hoping to be one of the lucky ones who got a Natasha Denona Palette. But, luck of the draw and I'm sure I'll get suckered into it again next year.
