Lipstick Queen All That Jazz Cool Gin Lipstick: Review & Swatches

I like some Lipstick Queen stuff, they make good lipsticks, I'm usually just not into many of the colors. I saw this new All That Jazz lipstick and Cool Gin described as a "pink nude with dazzling gold pearls" sounded up my alley as a lover of my lip but better colors. Per Lipstick Queen's website: "Ladies and gentlemen, good evening and welcome to the show. Lipstick Queen is proud to present a sensational new lipstick that will shoot you and your lips straight into the limelight this party season - All That Jazz! Imagine a shimmer and shine never witnessed before, with a molten finish and a bit of the ol’ razzle dazzle to get everyone’s pulse racing. Riotously glamorous with a tantalizing texture and a seriously slinky finish."
  • Rich, cushiony texture with a high-gloss, glide-on finish
  • Multi-dimensional pearls reflect light from every angle for a show-stopping metallic effect
  • Ground-breaking formula enriched with hydrating and protective actives Algomega, Omega 3, Jojoba Oil, and Lady’s Thistle to keep lips soft, hydrated and sensuously smooth

I found the description off. Cool Gin is more a warm deep pink shade, it's not nude at all. The gold pearls is right, except it's lots of large gold shimmer. The gold is very prominent, metallic as they said in the description, as well as large and very gritty. I hated it for that reason alone, plus it wasn't really a pink nude like I wanted. I don't really wear more true deep pinks like this, so I really didn't have anything to compare it to. The lipstick itself is glossy, hydrating and comfortable to wear, minus the gritty glitter. It's medium coverage on the pink lipstick base end, the gold is very noticeable as I said. The shimmer slides off onto the sides of my face as well, that kind of glitter that gets everywhere and is hard to get off. I didn't wear this to it's full extent as the glitter bothered me too much and I had to take it off early. Since the glitter was slippery I imagine it only has a 2-3 hour longevity at most. The retail is $30 and these come in a slender round tube. If you like glossy, medium moisturizing lipsticks with tons of glitter and don't mind gritty, then this is for you.
