Charlotte Tilbury Goddess Skin Clay Mask: Review

12:29:00 PM

I've been quite a Charlotte Tilbury fan for the last year. I'm not a huge fan of drying clay masks, so when I saw Charlotte Tilbury come out with one that has sweet almond oil, and is supposed to be non-drying, I wanted to give it a try. The Goddess Skin Clay Mask is supposed to visibly lift, smooth, brighten & tighten pores for baby soft skin. This mask retails for $70 for a 2.5 fl oz tube. I love tube packaging, it's perfect for less mess and keeps the ingredients fresher longer.

The main ingredients are: water, glycerin, sweet almond oil, kaolin(clay), tobacco leaf cell culture, rosehip oil, frangipani flower extract, sunflower seed oil, chlorphenesin(can be used as a muscle relaxer or preservative), vitamin E, vitamin C derivative, vitamin C, citric acid, fragrance. The mask is a thicker pink clay style mask. It's not too thick like some clay masks. It's easy to spread and apply. The scent is mostly sweet, like almond oil, with a hint of floral. It's not overpoweringly sweet.

You leave this on for ten minutes then wash it off. Charlotte recommends a special application technique which you can watch here. It did not dry my skin out at all. I had no stinging or any adverse reactions to this mask. I did notice a small amount of pore tightening and overall brighter and smoother complexion after washing off. It's not a miracle, but nothing is really. I'm realistic, nothing will make my pores go away magically, but they can look their best. Overall, it is a great clay mask that doesn't dry your skin and is pleasant to use because it's not uncomfortably dry. The only other mask I use that's similar is Omorovicza's Deep Cleansing Mask. These are currently the only two clay or mud detoxifying masks I will use, because they don't dry my skin out.
